FEATURES OF ADAPTATION TO THE CONDITIONS OF THE PANDEMIC OF TOURISM ACTIVITIES

Summary

The article considers the main problems of survival of subjects in the tourist ecosystem, which is under threat without constant state support. Theoretical and practical provisions aimed at adapting tourism entities to the conditions of the pandemic are presented. It is established that the governments of the states, in particular the government of Ukraine, have taken a number of measures to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on tourism, to minimize job losses. The presented research is formed in the context of two aspects: 1) the analysis of the state support of subjects of tourist branch in some countries of the world, in particular and in Ukraine; 2) consideration of strategies resorted to by tourism entities. It is determined that the key priorities of tourism policy should include: 1) restoring the confidence of travelers; 2) support for travel companies in adaptation and survival; 3) promoting the development of domestic tourism and supporting the safe return of international tourism; 4) providing clear information to travelers and companies and limiting uncertainty (as far as possible); 5) development of response measures to support gaps and targeted support; 6) strengthening tourism cooperation within and between countries; 7) creating more sustainable conditions for the development and support of tourism. It was found that the developed countries of the world have provided timely and large-scale assistance to tourism. It has been proven that the pandemic has significantly changed the trends of the tourism industry, including issues such as hygiene and safety, consumers in the domestic market and in neighboring countries, tours and virtual reality technologies in tourism. It is determined that under the influence of the pandemic, some tourism entities managed to reorient in time and not go bankrupt. Due to large-scale vaccination, the tourism business is gradually recovering. Businesses that can make the most of technology and optimize costs will be in the best position to meet future challenges and achieve long-term success. It was found that the liquidity of the tourism and hospitality industries can be maintained and strengthened by meeting a variety of consumer needs and taking measures to turn barriers into opportunities.
